Hello From Plano, Texas
Not sure when is the best time to see your wonderful country. At present we are looking at either May or Oct. 2012.If you were a first timer traveler to New Zealand and Australia, what would you recommend.   Thanks  Tom & Corinne

Hi there
Autumn or Spring?
I would go for the October option (spring).
More day light hours - longer days and shorter nights at that time of the year.
Cheers
Clem

Hello, we are travelling as a family (2 adults, a 6yr old and a 3 yr old) to the south island late Oct. For 2 weeks. We have found your website very useful and was wondering if you had any brochures on holiday parks you can send us. we are hiring a campervan and would appreciate any info on appropriate sights to stay.

Thank you
Daniela

Hi Daniela

There are 2 reliable Holiday Park chains in New Zealand.
Sorry I don't have any brochures, but here are the links to their web sites:
Top 10 Holiday Parks -- http://www.top10.co.nz/
and

Have a great time in New Zealand

Hi Michael Not a lot of time, but you could fly to Queenstown (from Auckland). Great spot and lots of things to do, say for 3 days. Make sure you include a daytrip to Milford Sound by bus or plane.

Have a great time and let me know how it works out.
Cheers Clem
p.s Great Queenstown hotel and activity deals on my website.

Brilliant, thanks...Michael

Hi there,

I'm planning a trip to the South Island and I need some advice.
I will be there for a total of 11 days.
Day1 arrive in Queenstown in the am.
Day 2,3,4 Routeburn track
Day 5 drive to Tuatapere
Day 6,7,8 Tuatapere track
For the rest of the stay 3 days I can't decide what to do.  Sould I drive to the glaciers or Mt. Cook?  If I drive on the coast can I fly out to Auckland from there (some where)?  If I drive to Mt Cook do I back track and fly out of Queens town?
Thank you,

Cristina

Hi Christina

You must be fit (and young)?
Done the Routeburn myself, very nice.
By the way, when are you planning to do this trip? (Winter is June-September) -- Safety & track closure information

Queenstown to the Glaciers takes at least 6 hours to drive - but it is a fantastic road trip, one of the best in NZ.
I would take this option. Do you have a rental car?
Stay 1 day at the Glaciers and fly with Air New Zealand from Hokitika to Auckland (via Christchurch) the next morning.
Drop rental car in Hokitika (Budget is an option More..BookIt)
Minimum 2.5hr drive from Glaciers to Hokitika.

Have fun

Clem
